The story so far... 2001 - born essentially from the infamous Funkee Jungle, with more than a splattering of Rog & Steve's acoustic thing, the original Starfish line up was made up of five. Originally put together solely to honour three gigs in early January, the band went from strength to strength and proved to be one of the areas biggest crowd pullers. 2002 - now with added Mandi Judge With John & Joe moving on to other things, the remaining three (Mike, Roger and Steve) were joined by Mandi. This all new, compact four piece who have been described as "making quiet the new loud", playing songs from the unlikeliest of bed fellows - Pink Floyd, Santana, the Doors, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Hendrix, Coldplay, Travis, David Gray, Elton John, Paul Weller, The Doves - to name but a few. 2003 - A much quieter year this year gig wise. There's been a fantastic amount of work going on in other areas though. Mike's got married and opened a new business, Mandi's expecting her first child, and Rog has been working with Steve, recording original material. Rog also got to play Zep's 'The Ocean' in front of legends' Jimmy Page and Brian May at the Riffathon final. 2004 - with dates booked through to December it started a quiet year, but got very busy towards the end (5 nights a week)-and gigs already booked through to 2006. John's been helping out in Mandi's absence but now she's back we are looking at revamping the playlist to include even more of the favourites that we've been playing between us over the years, as well as including new material. Also started recording the much awaited cd and dvd footage............ 2005 - ticking over nicely, but with the old regular venues closing the doors we started playing new and exciting venues in Lytham St. Annes and Longton to name but two. New cover material from Stereophonics, Razorlight and Floyd as well as original material. Mandi got married to Mr Darren Clifton and the band played at her wedding - Mandi in her wedding dress. The sad news this year was the death of a Starfish member who has been struggling with ill health for the last few years. Yes I'm afraid the van sadly gigged its last gig when the mechanic trying to MOT it couldn't get the bonnet open... and more importantly couldn't guarantee that he would be able to shut it again, if ever he did open it. 2006 - time for a well deserved break... gigs started june 15. Meanwhile Rog did Masterchef, Steve spent time working in the West End of London and Mike played with bands such as Naked and Breather. 2007 - Ratfink (from alien sex fiend) ended the year with us on drums, Mandi had another baby to be continued..............
